In reply to Milton. The Holocaust is unique in history. And there was no genocide in America against the aborginals; that was similar to how Russia expanded, China's Han's expanded, and even the Germanic peoples did. Know your place and show respect for the Jews.

The German car brands all don't hide the 1933-1945 part of their history, which why, as a Jew myself, I've got not problems w/ owning one & currently do. Regarding what they did during those years, bc they've not lied, I'll take the Seinfeld approach re. Porsche to Welt Am Sonntag: I got a problem w/ people not inanimate object, & corporations aren't people. No individuals who were in the Nazi regime work at any of those companies anymore, but the companies do tell the truth. But A. Lange & Sohne doesn't even do that.

Why should I be willing to boycott someone who personally did nothing bad, because he was a child when his (grand-)father built watches for a dictator.
Lange’s history is openly known in today’s Germany.
The following socialist system in East Germany made life extra miserable for the descendants of active supporters of the national-socialists including the Lange family – while the smug ones of a victorious nation somewhere else at home played with their guns, those guns which their (great-)grandfathers had used to try to eradicate the aboriginal population of their own country.
One could wonder if you prefer transgenerational collective punishment because of inherited guilt, Sir – and be it only by association.
Is sippenhaft the legally valid law in your country? If yes, your lawmakers maybe have learnt that one from that German national-socialists regime back then. Just as the GDR commies did, and Mao perfected it.
Henry, Colt, Springfield … I wonder if it could be assumed that you boycott those makers’ families and descendants and their today’s products as well then.
Personally, I give a tish for Lange’s past. As a commentor wrote above, if SS-Officer W. v. Braun would not have been welcomed by the States, their space program maybe would have taken a different and slower route.
Will buy a Lange finally as they are among the very best.
But don’t worry, Mr. Farago, literally nobody has to buy a Lange watch; even antifa and the full-time indignant can calm down again and stick to their Chinese forced labor made goods.

I don’t feel that they have any obligation to anyone. It’s silly to even consider it. Times were different 80 years ago and all people who were involved are long gone. Can we stop punishing and harassing the following generation for the actions of another??

It’s not about your personal style. I’ll just say talk for myself. I don’t want to associate and give business to a brand that used slave labor and was belied by Hitler. Or at least doesn’t publicly acknowledge it. As a Jew, I made Lange taboo for myself.
