I got it and I am fully satisfied with it. I find it beautiful both on the Milanese bracelet it the NATO and it is very light although I would have preferred an 8806 calibre on titanium mainplates to shave a few extra grams… I don’t think to be a lone person enjoying this watch as it is a significant commercial success for Omega.

That said, I can’t see putting it on my own wrist. The faux vintage details on the titanium case are, as has been said before, schizophrenic. I hated the last Bond watches from Spectre as well. Faux vintage is just awful.

I’m sure there’s been not a man to wear a dive watch and not think about being James Bond, so it’s hard to blame them for wanting to bank on that. There have definitely been tackier versions, but I don’t think this is the best. If I remember correctly there was an Aqua Terra with a patterned dial that I seem to recall being subtly fun without showing off that you like associating with machismo movies.

This watch has some identity problems, doesn’t it. JUST LIKE JAMES BOND. I guess Omega’s owned his wrist long and strong enough that having an actual vintage Submariner is out of the cards, and the last thing a Bond movie and Rolex needs is yet another stupid Sub, so I don’t like the vintage style dots but I see the connection so fine.

I was going to have a real issue with the vintage/modern design schizophrenia…but then I remembered something important. Since the end of Spectre, James Bond has been stuck in a paradoxical time loop. So given that, a pseudo vintage modern watch actually works just fine.
